The Viral Sensation of Japanese Salarywoman Saori ArakiIn late July 2025, a single photo of Japanese model and former J-pop idol Saori Araki took the internet by storm.
Posted on X by Araki herself (@kawausosuki0513) on July 24th, the image captures her in a sharp grey suit, holding a laptop, and flashing a playful smile with puffed-up cheeks.
Captioned simply «Good Morning » in Japanese, the post exploded, racking up over 40 million views and 100,000 likes in just four days.

Dubbed the «Japanese Salarywoman» or «Japanese Girl in Suit,» Araki’s image became a meme phenomenon. Internet users, particularly on X, embraced the photo, spawning a wave of humorous and admiring posts.
Many compared her to Western celebrities like Sydney Sweeney, with «Which Way Western Man» memes contrasting cultural aesthetics.
One user,@eigenrobot, paired Araki’s image with Sweeney’s, earning 50,000 likes in a day. Others, like @FroegVol4, jokingly apologized for historical events, while @badchestpain quipped about crashing their car over her charm.

Araki, a former member of the J-pop group Tokyo Girls Bravo, leaned into the viral moment. On July 27th, she posted another suited-up photo, this time throwing a peace sign, captioned as a «peace version» of the original.
The internet responded with more memes, including edits like Araki holding a Death Note or a PhD study on olfactory ethics. Her Instagram slideshow from a visit to Takeda, a Japanese design company, also gained traction, pulling in 20,000 likes.
She uploaded a YouTube Short on July 29, discussing how her face has been spread across the internet.
“I decided to start a YouTube Channel. My first video might be a Q&A style one. But, if there’s not enough interest, I might just give up,” SAO warned.
“Thanks for being here and I’m excited to start this journey with you.”
As of writing, SAO’s channel has amassed just under 3,000 subscribers, so we’ll have to see what she decides to do once enough time has passed and if she continues to be a viral meme on social media.
